It's the World's First Root Beer Saloon! Root Beer is served in frosted mugs (the home of Mr. Frosty) in a place that has an ambiance unlike any other.  The decor includes over 175 sets of antlers (elk, caribou, deer, moose), many taxidermy mounts of gamefish, over 150 mounted ducks, geese & birds, beasts large and small, a giant statue of king tut, a wooden cigar store Indian, antique guns, snow shoes, decoys, fishing plugs, even a Michael Garman diorama a replica of a New York tenement from the 1930's and so much more it boggles the eye and mind
     The Saloon is filled to the rafters with kitchy decor.  Visitors could spend hours taking in the unusual ambiance, which is a combination of a museum, time capsule, hunting lodge, and Western Saloon. 
     This Alto Pass emporium has on tap three micro brewed draft root beers from St. Louis, Milwaukee and Chicago. You may also choose from orange dream or cream soda on tap.  Add to that a line of gourmet deli croissant sandwiches including seafood such as Lobster, Jumbo Gulf Shrimp, Soft Shell Crab, Cajun Crawfish and for meat eaters the traditional honey turkey, country ham, roast beef along with mango duck, honey orange pheasant varieties of Alaskan smoked salmon such as Cajun, wine teriyaki, maple also rainbow trout and lake trout.
     Visitors can belly up to the 14-foot-long bar with a large python skin stretched down the length and behind the bar is a museum collection of waterfowl including an 18 pound mounted lobster to keep everyone's eyes and senses busy.
     Guests may also take a seat at an antique table to sip their soda, served in Mr. Frosty mugs or indulge in the home made pies, old fashioned ice creamed sodas, sundaes, malts, shakes, banana splits or cappuccino bar, any way you look at it you've found a great place to stop and see.
     But it's also a great place to shop.  There are more than 100 kinds of bulk bean coffees, 35 varieties of teas, more than 150 herbs, spices and blends at least 100 hot sauces.  Also on the shelves are smoked salmon, botanical extracts, assorted gourmet candies and chocolate, perfumes and spice baskets from the West Indies.  There are also many specialty oils directly from Italy.
     The Root Beer Saloon also caters to private parties for evening dinners serving 8 to 16 persons by reservation called "The Taste of Tuscany and the Mediterranean".  The meals are prepared with menues from Italy, Spain and France.  Menues are exclusive and individually prepared and can be chosen from over 100 items including seafood, lamb, veal, pork and specialty items.  Prices will depend on the menues chosen.
